The Show Must Go On!

It’s crazy the lengths we go to entertain people. I recently returned from a show in Jacksonville, Florida during Hurricane Helene. A very special fundraiser for the Child Cancer Fund. It so happened that the show fell on the day of the Hurricane. Although the show was still a distance away from the eye of the storm, I have never experienced rain and wind like that before. During a “short” drive back to the hotel, I somehow managed to dodge a falling palm tree, avoid being swept over the bridge from crazy winds and make it over crazy flooding while power was out everywhere in sight. I surely could write a book about all the crazy behind the scenes experiences from touring just to put smiles on faces.

It always seems that nothing comes easy. There are always challenges that we face. When something can go wrong, it usually will. I remember on my show tour in China having my equipment detained for a week while I had to explain to immigration officials why I was carrying swords and other random items that only a magician would understand.

On one of my show runs, I had a series of sold out performances. Turns out that one afternoon I ate something which gave me food poisoning. Now we are an hour to show time with hundreds of guests entering the theatre while I’m as sick as can be in my hotel room. I remember this was the toughest show that I ever did. Although it was rough, I still managed to pull off a great show. As they say, The Show Must Go On!

Mega Magic will be returning to the Sheraton Fallsview at Casino Niagara from December 21- January 4 with shows at 8:00 pm nightly! There are no shows on December 24, 25 & 31. Tickets are available as part of a hotel package or for sale at the door. Be sure to reach out if you’re heading to Niagara over the holidays!

F1 Racing

I recently returned from celebrating my birthday in Austin, Texas at a very special event for the F1 Race. I always seem to be away on my birthday at shows somewhere in the world but it makes it that much more fun being able to do what I love on my special day. I had the chance to meet and perform for F1 star from Williams Racing, Franco Colapinto from Argentina. At only 21, he is one of the best F1 racers in the world. The best part of what I do is getting a glimpse into other worlds and seeing how inspiration is all around us.
