I remember my first gig performing at the Toronto Zoo. It was my first job in high school and my start into the world of showbiz. This was my training ground battling the summer heat, testing my material and learning how to connect with audiences of all different ages.
Followed by my run at the Zoo, I worked at Centre Island selling magic tricks. I quickly learned that selling and performing were two different beasts. It was a completely different art being able to get people to pay money to buy “tricks”. As a performer, I was always chasing the applause and not the money. It took me 2 hours to travel to the island taking car, bus, subway, streetcar and boat just to make $50 daily. This said, it was the perfect learning experience in sales which is crucial in any business. You have to adapt no matter how challenging something may seem.
As we celebrate our 20th year in this crazy field, I am so grateful for all of the memories. The shows, travel and opportunities have allowed me to explore the world and put smiles on faces.
This past summer, I travelled to Pittsburgh to perform at a recruiting gala for the PITT Panthers Football Team at Acrisure Stadium. Such a cool experience performing in an empty stadium that holds over 65,000 people. I returned to New Brunswick to headline the Miramichi Canada Day Festival. There is something about the East Coast which is truly magical. The scenery and nature is like no other. I just returned from another adventure in Aspen. For the past few years, Colorado has been a home away from home performing at some very exclusive events. I also had the privilege of performing at the Procter and Gamble National Awards Gala at Rebel.

Traitors Canada Season 2!!!
Traitors Canada has been renewed for Season 2 and premieres on September 23! It promises to be another great season and I’m excited to see who will follow in my footsteps.
Since my appearance on the show, I’ve been asked by many people if being a magician helped me win. The truth is that there is a whole other world of misdirection & manipulation beyond the tricks. A couple of years ago I gave a talk in Tampa, Florida to Top US Generals, CIA and Global Security Experts on how magic and misdirection can be used in everyday life to manipulate people. Are the choices we make really our own? It’s fascinating how misdirection can be used even off the stage.
If you missed the craziness that unfolded in The Traitors Canada season 1, you can view the show on CRAVE or stream for free here… https://www.ctv.ca/shows/the-traitors-canada
I’ll leave you with this short video of my favourite scene from the show. Did you see it? No one ever does…
Have a great Fall season!
