Mega Magic’s 21 Year Anniversary!
I always wanted to become a doctor but my parents insisted that I become a magician…LOL!! I’m not sure where the time has gone but I’ve been performing for half my life! Seems like it was just yesterday when I stumbled across this crazy profession. I wasn’t quite sure if magic was even a career- it just seemed like a cool idea at the time. I’m not sure what my life would be like if I didn’t pursue my high school passion.
Kicking off the 2025 Show Tour!
What a month! Our 2025 show tour kicked off in New Orleans. I love the art and culture that the city has to offer. Performing at a sales kickoff for WorkForce Software (ADP), there were people from all over the globe. Magic really does have a unique universal appeal.
Reminded me of my first international show tour in China. It was really exciting taking that step outside of my comfort zone and performing for people that didn’t even speak a word of English. What I remember the most was the connection you could make with people regardless of the language barrier.
So much of communication is non-verbal and something as simple as a handshake or smile can change your day. When I interned at Sony Pictures, I had the chance to work with Robin Williams during the filming of the movie RV. A few us were hanging out with Robin in the hotel room and I grabbed him a coffee. Later that day, I was standing across the street from Robin when his driver came to pick him up. Robin Williams crossed the street to shake my hand and say Thank You! I’ll never forget what an impact that left on me. Sometimes the smallest gesture can change your perspective on life!
Here is a video that we made 11 years ago on our 10 year anniversary in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. It truly shows how some of the simplest tricks can have such an impact on different cultures.
Snow Snow Snow!
I had the pleasure of flying out to Dallas for a show last week during the weekend of the major snowstorm in Toronto. After waiting at the airport for over 14 hours due to delays and a cancelled flight, I was off to defrost and enjoy some sunshine. It turned out that Dallas ended up being colder than Toronto with a minus 10 low temperature (-20 with wind chill). From Dallas, I flew into Richmond Virginia and was greeted by another major snowstorm! Seems like this was the Snowmageddon tour!
Sleepless in Seattle!
I performed at the Tulalip Casino in Seattle on NYE. What a crazy 48 hours it was. Flew to Vancouver after my show on the 30th in Niagara Falls to catch a connecting flight to Seattle. Drove 90 minutes once I landed to the beautiful Tulalip Casino. After my show, hit the road to catch my flight back to Toronto and make the evening show in Niagara on January 1. Let’s just say, this was my best trick yet! This is all the behind the scenes craziness that people don’t see but I wouldn’t change a thing.
This Never Happens…
I was booked for an event in Salt Lake City. Turns out another client of mine was having their event in Salt Lake on the same night in the same hotel in the room right beside each other at the same time! Managed to hop back and forth from room to room and performed a double header!
Upcoming
I’m always asked when my theatre shows are returning to Ontario. We have a very special performance of our Mind Kontrol show at the Flato Markham Theatre on March 1st. This will be one of our only public shows in the Toronto area this year.
I’m also very excited to announce that Mega Magic will be returning to Niagara Falls for 16 shows! The performances run from March 8- 15 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel at 6:30 and 9:00 pm nightly! This has been my longest running residency so be sure to come check us out if you’re in Niagara over the March Break.
