It’s been 3 months since the finale of The Traitors Canada. I sure do miss the beautiful Manor but there were some moments that I will never forget.
1) Every night we sat around the Round Table, it would start off with the song from the Hunger Games, The Hanging Tree. This definitely gave me the chills and still haunts me in my sleep.
2) Funny story, one night as us Traitors were walking in the dark to the conclave, a skunk cornered us. Could you imagine if the 3 of us got sprayed? That would be a complete giveaway…Haha!
3) One night at the Round Table during the banishment, there was a massive storm. The conversation got so heated and then we hear a loud bang of thunder. All of the lights turned off and we sat there in pitch-black in complete silence waiting for power to come back. Talk about intensity in the moment. I’d like to see the uncut version from the show.
At the end of the day, it was so much more than playing a ‘game’. When you’re put under such circumstances, you truly make friendships & bond with other players. It becomes a reality as you’re completely disconnected from the outside world without any phone, internet, TV, radio or contact with friends & family. I guess this is why they call it Reality TV.
We just created a page on our website with all of the highlights from the show including photos, videos, media, press and podcasts about the experience. You can check it out here…
A Night with the Toronto Maple Leafs!
I had the honour of performing for the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Blue & White gala. This was a gala benefiting the MLSE Foundation which featured the entire team, coaches and past players. It was hosted by Devo Brown from Breakfast TV and I had the chance to perform my close up magic for all of the players including Auston Matthews & Morgan Rielly.
I even had the chance to meet a huge inspiration of mine Tessa Virtue, who is the two-time Olympic gold medalist in pairs ice dance. For those of you that don’t know, growing up I was a competitive figure skater at the Gold Men’s Freeskate level. Competitions, ice shows, crazy costumes and long hours at the rink was my life prior to becoming a magician. I trained before and after school and spent each summer at the arena. During these years, I realized that to achieve any level of success, you have to be motivated with the right mindset. With hard work, dedication and perseverance, you can take your goals to the next level. Tessa is such an inspiration and it was nice getting the chance to share my experience as a skater and magician.
I also performed for the Buffalo Sabres at Seneca Casino in Niagara Falls last month. Really cool getting to perform for these NHL teams. Obviously I didn’t want to come off as a traitor again so I couldn’t tell the Sabres about the Leafs event…haha!
A big thanks to Your Morning on CTV for having me on the show to mess with the hostess Lindsey and talk about my victory on The Traitors. Check out this video…
Mega Magic Returns to Niagara Falls!
I’m pleased to announce that we are returning to the beautiful Crowne Plaza Hotel in Niagara Falls from March 9- 16 for a total of 16 shows! The shows run daily at 6:30 & 9:00 pm and promise to be a mind blowing experience. If you’re in Niagara Falls over the March Break, be sure to come check us out.
Niagara Falls has been a home away from home for me over the years and continues to be one of my favourite places to perform. I just returned from the Festivals & Events Ontario conference as the opening keynote speaker with my Mind Reading & Motivation presentation. I spoke about the importance of breaking outside of your comfort zone to achieve success. It was a great conference with festival planners from across the province looking for new exciting entertainment for their upcoming events.
For those of you down south, Mega Magic will be bringing the show to the Sheraton Hotel in Dallas Texas on April 4.
It’s hard to believe that I been performing professionally for the past 20 years but it never gets old. I’m excited for what the future holds and look forward to seeing many of you at our upcoming shows.
